Frequently Asked Questions
We know you may have questions about therapy or our practice. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common ones. If you don’t see your question here, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
We provide individual psychotherapy for adolescents, young adults, and adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, trauma, related disorders, and personal growth. Our approach is collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based, tailored to each client’s unique needs. We see patients via telehealth located in New York and Connecticut.
We utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities proven to be effective, including Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other research-supported approaches. We carefully select methods based on what research shows to be most effective for your specific concerns, while adapting our approach to fit your individual needs and preferences.
We are an in-network provider for:
Aetna
Cigna
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield New York (formerly Empire)
UnitedHealthcare
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts

We also assist with checking your out-of-network benefits and provide self-pay options. Please contact our office with your specific insurance information, and we’ll help verify your coverage and benefits.
For out-of-network and self-pay clients, our standard session fee is $200. We understand therapy is an investment, and we are committed to making mental health care accessible. We offer sliding scale fees based on financial need and income, with a limited number of reduced-fee slots available.
If you are using insurance, your cost will depend on your plan and coverage. For out-of-network benefits, we provide a Superbill. All fees and payment expectations are discussed before beginning therapy.
Yes! Out-of-network benefits can help make therapy more affordable. You can request a Superbill from us, which provides a detailed receipt of your payment that you can submit to your insurance company.
Depending on your plan and deductible, you may be reimbursed for most—or a significant portion—of your therapy fees. We are happy to provide an estimate of potential reimbursement and guide you through the process.
Individual therapy sessions typically last 45 to 53 minutes.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. As you progress, we may adjust frequency based on your needs and goals.
Your initial session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your history, goals, and any questions you may have. This helps us determine if we’re a good fit and begin creating a tailored treatment plan.
Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of our practice. Everything shared in therapy is protected by law and professional ethics. The only exceptions are situations where we are legally required to act—such as immediate risk of harm to yourself or others.
