Magenta Therapy
Sarah Thorpe, LCSW
Anxiety & OCD Therapy for Adults and Couples · New YorkSarah Thorpe, LCSW, is a compassionate therapist who works with adults and couples, with a particular focus on Anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), especially among women navigating life transitions and periods of change. She earned her Master of Social Work from Fordham University and takes a Trauma-Informed Framework to therapy. Sarah believes that feeling heard and understood is an important part of creating meaningful change, and she strives to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and comfortable being themselves.
Sarah’s approach is Strength-Based and Solution-Focused, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. She works collaboratively with each client to develop practical tools for managing anxiety, navigating difficult emotions, and feeling less controlled by anxious or obsessive thoughts.
Having navigated significant transitions and challenges in her own life, Sarah understands how difficult it can be to balance relationships, family, responsibilities, and the expectations we place on ourselves. These experiences have deepened her empathy and shaped the way she connects with clients. She became a therapist because of her genuine desire to help others and her belief that people have the capacity to create meaningful changes, even during the most challenging seasons of life.
Originally from the Hudson Valley, Sarah values spending time with her family and finding opportunities to slow down and recharge. In her free time, she enjoys spending time on the lake or at the beach and appreciating the simple moments that bring balance and relaxation to everyday life.
